Colonies
A colony is defined as (1) a district of churches, ministries and five-fold functionaries located within an assigned geographic area or (2) an ecclesiastical work (fellowship, organization, ministry, etc.) of at least two churches without regard to geography. As a colony grows and further develops ecclesiastically, operationally and administratively, it becomes a province. Each colony is governed by a Superintendent, who is responsible for ecclesiastical oversight and development of the colony and acts as the direct ambassador of the Apostolic Bishop and/or Presiding Apostolic Bishop to that colony.
Before appointment to the office of Superintendent, an individual must satisfactorily meet all EIF requirements and perform the duties of the position under a period of observation. During this period, the individual will act as an Assistant to the Apostolic Bishop or Presiding Apostolic Bishop and will have shared responsibility for the ecclesiastical headship in that colony until such time the appointment to Superintendent is made.
